On twigs' debut album, we see twigs push the sounds of ambient art pop with elements of glitchy electronica over deeply sensual lyrics and haunting vocal melodies that never fail to impress me throughout each of these 10 tracks. It almost reminds me of the minimalism and deeply sensual feeling of House Of Balloons flipped in a way that feels even more dark and sensual, and even more depressing lyrically, whilst still remaining sonically pleasing and impressive, especially for 2014. It also ... read more

King Push returns to the game to show that he is still a force to be reckoned with within hardcore hip-hop and that he's still as consistently strong at pushing out pretty strong material with each release of his. As a HUGE fan of Daytona, I wasn't expecting him to pass that record with this one, but for a follow up to one of 2018's coolest records(Imo), this delivers more than enough. Push sounds as strong and consistent as always, delivering great coke-raps over these absolutely beautifully ... read more

Jack Harlow's sophomore record fails to really move anywhere all that interesting, as Jack consistently feels bored or uninspired on almost every track here. I'm not a Jack hater or anything, the guy can sometimes make a catchy pop rap track, but I'm struggling to grasp at much of anything here. It's so inoffensive that it just never moves anywhere out of it's comfort zone, and with Jack just struggling to put in all that much effort into almost all of these tracks, the record becomes one big ... read more

Crack Cloud$ Over Arts Kitchen is truly an experimental and drugged out acid trip of a record. Kray took the strongest and most interesting ideas from his previous mixtape, Coc4ine & Icecre4m 2048, and further developed his cloud rap and witch house sound into something so ethereal and special that no artist has really replicated up to this point in music(and don't say Sematary, he's doing something completely different in witch house). This causes the record to feel incredibly fresh and ... read more

The collaboration mixtape between Gucci Mane and Chief Keef falls into this weird area that I can't really describe other than saying that Sosa sounds so much better than Gucci Mane on pretty much every track. I don't know if this is my bias towards Chief Keef or if Gucci legitimately underperformed on this record, but most of his performances were honestly pretty unremarkable, with Sosa picking up most of the slack on a large majority of the tracks to at least save most of these tracks into ... read more
