Tuxerony

Maybe I just haven't listened to enough music, but I have never heard anything quite like this album. The imagery it provides is so vivid and distinct yet also so unique to myself and reliant on my own imagination. The varied instrumentation and styles definitely help with this effect, meshing together elements of rock, classical, jazz, and even electronic music. This album is both incredibly beautiful and slightly horrifying. The intro to the album starts off as a serene classical piece, and each song thereafter grows increasingly more metal until the climax of the album in the 6th track "doxa incarnate", which is heavy and terrifying. The album slows down a bit after this, but not in a bad way. When I think of J-Rock this is the type of sound that I think of, and this album has nearly perfected that sound. While the guitars and drums are loud and relentless, the songs are still incredibly catchy and fun to listen to. And with a short 22 minute run time there is no room for filler.

Sanmon Gossip is one of the most fun albums I've listened to in a long time. Despite not being as impressive as some of her earlier works, it still manages to be just as enjoyable for me. This album is a fantastic ride full of ideas, however this does cause some of the longer tracks to drag a bit since it relies on its ever changing sound to keep the listener engaged.
