Make Yourself is Incubus' 3rd album, released on October 26th, 1999 (the day I was born, lol).
It was recorded at NRG Studios in Los Angeles throughout May and June of that year.
It was a modest critical & commercial success in the US, peaking in the Billboard 200 at No. 47
The electronic-infused riffs on this album are fuckin' unreal and offer a nice splice of classic punk-rock edge with some Hip-Hop elements.
I love how Incubus manage to not play by the rules and incorporate all these elements together within each other to deliver something that sounds fresh for a 1999 release that brings the Alternative Metal to greater heights.
Simplistic in lyrics but relatable as well since it mainly comes across as being about self-motivation and not to rely on others for your happiness.
Great headbanging material for Metal fans that holds up well to this day along with being an interest experiment that's executed rather well, I'd say.
