Quite a short but dark & emotional 20min trip through what it can feel like growing up.

waste urself was an album by American indie rock group Teen Suicide released in June 2012, despite being left incomplete. All the rest of the tracks that were intended to be featured on w.y. were instead released in a compilation the year after, before being released separately.

If there's something that grabs my attentiom about waste yrself, is that it feels like a dark coming-of-age concept that can resonate with a lot of young people.
It feels like a love letter to the emo-era of the late 90s.

At times the mixing isn't great and sounds abrasive, not in a good way. But at the same time, I guess it works for capturing conflicting emotions running someone's mind.

waste yrself is a decent way to spend 20mins of your time with the emo / indie rock genre that has relatable lyrics, tender undertones (despite the mixing contrasts that) and a straightfoward formula that makes it mostly accessible.
