Calvin Harris & Sam Smith - Promises

OK so to begin with, on the first half of the song, I couldn’t tell if I really liked the song. I was beginning to think that it was going to be a disappointment. I couldn’t really understand the production, and the arrangement, and it did all seem a bit messy. Towards the end of the song however, it was then clear how the production was and the arrangement seemed more clearer.

The song isn’t a go had Calvin Harris song, and I do believe it isn’t as good as ‘One Kiss’, however, it’s a very chill Ibiza sunset type of dance song, which is perfect for getting ready on a night out, or perfect for winding down after a night out. It’s still 90s influenced, which is also great because I feel Calvin does pull that vibe off really well.

I don’t see this doing as well as ‘One Kiss’, however, I can see it getting a lot of radio play, and doing commercially well, especially in the UK.
