I couldn’t imagine a worse place to live than Florida. The weather is miserable 11 months out of the year. The state is covered in sprawling, closed-off suburbs, ugly strip malls, and… not much else. We have very little mass transit and the car culture is pervasive. The people are legendarily scary. Our school system is bankrupt and crumbling. The governor is corrupt. It’s flat as a pancake, and there is almost no natural beauty to be found. This is why when my parents ... read more

One of my friends has recently been putting me on a ton of reggaeton. Bad Bunny is one of the artists he recommends to me the most, starting with his album YHLQMDLG and continuing with his collab album OASIS with fellow reggaeton superstar J Balvin. Both of these albums were solid, with some good highlights, but they were nowhere near consistent enough to really wow me. When this album dropped my friend seemed to be even more enthusiastic about it than most albums he had shown me prior, so I ... read more

Edit: 71 to 75 - despite the mixing issues I talk about here, "Just right slow" has grown on me massively. It's such a nice tune that it's now one of my favorite songs of the year.

As the biggest Nanahira fan on this entire website, I feel compelled to review this new album of hers… which is why it kinda sucks that this album is not particularly interesting. Votre Château is almost entirely made up of ideas that sound like things she has done in the past more ... read more

I've been doing nothing but sitting in my room for the last week because of COVID, so the insane day for music that today has been gave me something to look forward to. We got a new album from Weiland, which I was unfortunately disappointed by, and a new album from Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, which I have yet to listen to but I know it'll be a great time. But most importantly, we got this King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard record. King Gizzard narrowly beats out Radiohead as the group I would ... read more

REVIEW:
BLAME IT ON BABY is not much more than your average trap rap album, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to talk about here. Throughout this album, DaBaby brings a lot more energy to his rapping than rappers like Gunna and Lil Baby, giving him a real presence that they don't have. He also tries some singing throughout the album, separating this from other albums. He also has a lot of very happy, poppy production choices here, again separating him from the moodiness that is often found ... read more

REVIEW:
21 Savage and Metro Boomin are two artists I haven't listened to much, but this album is making me feel like I've missed out. These two have awesome synergy throughout the project, with 21's flows blending perfectly into Boomin's heavy, bassy trap production. This album is super consistent, with few notable high and low points, and good quality throughout. Unlike many trap projects, this album doesn't need to rely on sticky hooks and fun beats, as the verses themselves are memorable. ... read more
