What the serious flying...
An amazing album, pop explosion of the highest class, craftily produced, mercilessly forces you to dance and bounce, track after track after track. There's no filler here, it's an endless parade of cranked-up have-fun-no-matter-what pop.
Slayyyter is simply the best pop studio artist at the moment
It's a very solid collection of pop songs. They are similar to each other and can get monotonous when listened as an album, but this doesn't change the fact we have some absolute bangers like Verevki, Mashyna, Soldat, Zaychik, Iskusayu... An album showcasing world-class pop.
I really like this set of songs. It’s a great combination between her strong sides (highlighting her evocative voice) and a more modern production approach, reminiscing her FEAT album (which was probably her weakest).
Veeery solid record in a similar vein to Caution. I'd say it doesn't have the same turbo bangers like Giving Me Life & Caution but it's satisfyingly consistent and the music & vibe abide perfectly to Mariah's voice. Very pleasant listen.
Such a beautiful album, one of the most interestingly sounding I've heard in quite some time.
Perfectly solid. I was a little afraid it would be too much like 'Delirium' which, in my opinion, is her worst album, but 'Higher Than Heaven' is just good, old, carefree pop.
Another great record in her collection. Francesca went back to her typical sound, well-known from the first 3 albums and it's great. Cani Sciolti has very nice vibe and atmosphere, sounds cohesive and endearing. I haven't delved into the lyrics yet but I'm pretty sure they're good, as is Francesca's standard. But most of all, I love and respect the fact that she wrote and produced every single song.
The track list is a bit underwhelming for my taste - there're many covers and i'd rather hear Sophie's original songs instead. Some of the songs in the first part (tracks 1-17) were a little boring but the second part was great. The fans and the atmosphere were top-notch.
Favorites - Hypnotized, Mixed Up World, Young Blood, Dancing Queen, Bittersweet
Very good album, Tove always delivers. Production-wise she might be the only Western artist who can challenge the koreans in terms of quality and creativity. Call on Me might be the best pop song of the year, it's an absolutely magnificent storm of sounds. Suburbia is also fun, True Romance is very cute, Pineapple Slice is erotic pop a la Britney at its' best and How Long is also one of the greatest tracks of 2022.
Despite all of this, there are some songs which lack impact, especially ... read more
Veeery solid stuff, nice vibes. Nothing as good as Glitch but Croquis, Simulation & Underwater are all great
The production and instrumentals are pretty interesting for the most part but I just don't find her voice impactful enough to turn those songs into something great
Still going strong so many years later, love to see it. Very consistent record and it's unmistakenably Suede.
The songs I liked the most were Personality Disorder, Black Ice and Turn off Your Brain and Yell
Great stuff! Una giornata uggiosa is an insanely nice song, as well as the closing Con il nastro rosa, I also liked Una vita viva. The album is very consistent and still sounds fresh 42 years later.
Sophomore slump? Never heard of her! The British girls come up with another great, cohesive and consistent record. The music has enough air to breathe, it's nostalgic (it reminds me of the time I was 5-6 years old with no responsibilities, etc., the usual stuff), but what I like the most about Let's Eat Grandma is their distinctiveness. They have their own niche in pop music and managed to create yet another beautiful record. The last three songs were kinda meh, though.
Jackie Down The Line might very well be better than anything Oasis ever put out
It's always cool to hear Aschroft's voice and generally I enjoyed the collection. Some of the "covers" I loved, like A Song For The Lovers, Sonnet, C'mon People and especially Break The Night With Color. However, Weeping Willow and Lucky Man in particular were disappointments. I'm not sure why, maybe he just didn't sound as good.
