i wanted to like the black keys at some point, i really did, and i still Love weight of love, one of the best songs i've ever heard. but by and large this band comes across as pretty un-inventive and uninteresting and across an Album those two traits make for a mind-numbing experience, the occasional highlight notwithstanding

7 rings had a bit that sounded identical to praise the lord by asap rocky and it was just as funny to me back then as it is now. another solid album from her though. not my style of music so i never revisit it, but it's full of cool songs and importantly does not overstay its welcome with pointless bloat
