Xiu Xiu’s interpretation of the Twin Peaks soundtrack brings out the horrific and surreal elements of the show in a way that feels fresh and creative, while also staying faithful to the source material. No doubt, Jamie takes many liberties with his interpretations of these compositions, however he does so in a tasteful way and the bountiful experimentation doesn’t take away from the core of these songs.

One big difference between this and the original are the song lengths. The ... read more

This album has so many flaws. From the muddy production, to the horribly trite and predictable lyrics, to the pointless features and MGK's one note vocal peformances - there is plenty of reason to hate this shit.

But i just dont.
Somehow, this album puts me in a really good mood and brings back nostalgia for a time i never even lived. If it wasn't for travis barkes drumming, a lot of these songs wouldnt be as bouncy as they are. In reality this album is like a 3/10, because like i said, many ... read more

What a fucking intro to an album.

It seems that Murder Of The Universe is often regarded as King Gizzards most polarising release, and it’s not difficult to see why.

Murder Of The Universe is not a record you can just skim through, pick your favourite tracks to put into a playlist, and call it a day. No, this album is a concept album through and through, that is meant to be listened to in full, with no skips, for the best experience. That isn’t why this album was polarising though. The Spoken word sections of this ... read more

It shouldn’t be surprising that this new single is solid. Deftones are one of the most consistently great bands to come out of the 90’s nu metal scene, with their discography showing a clear progression in sound and style, while still retaining what makes them them, all while tragically losing a key member In the middle of the bands toughest period of their career. Despite this, Deftones have managed to stay relevant for 2 decades, that’s fucking impressive.

Many bands find ... read more

The production on here is really great, the Latin flavoured guitar licks sound nice and crisp, and the subs are nice and heavy. These types of beats are usually up my alley so maybe a bit biased there.

Don Tolliver absolutely kills the hook on here and it’s the big thing that keeps me coming back to the track. His performance overall is just really stellar.

Nav has... a DECENT verse?!?! What???

Gunna also sounds uncharacteristically alive on his verse. Yeah, he gives the weakest ... read more

Hey! For a list I’m making, what is your feel good album?
Oct 16, 2020
Hey! It’s Stankysauce under my new alias Alkaline Pink with my new debut Halloween mixtape on my new label Insomnia Café! This new mixtape is by FAR my best material to date and a total change of pace from my last project Analog Autopsy. I am done with that synthwave type stuff to embrace more loud distorted sounds, as I am going industrial this time around. I tried to make it sound as dark and nasty as possible to celebrate the spooky month!
Anyways, I hope you guys like it!

Hello! I recently came up with the idea to make a small blog (site) like Pitchfork and etc for several selected people from AOTY (and not only) to share their reviews and opinions. Do you support this idea and are you interested in it?

What are your fav albums for 2020 (for a list)?

Hey it is me Stanky Sauce under a new alias! I want Alkaline Pink to be a much more personal name with more meaning to the song titles rather than stuff just being as “random” as it was before. Anyways, this is my best song and I can’t wait to see what you guys think!
