Except from songs “All I Want” and “Scandalous”, which are absolute classics, I honestly don’t really care for this.
Please note that I do not like (most) rnb at all, and honestly this project would be even lower if it was all rnb because I just find the whole genre really boring and uninteresting. If all the songs were as energetic as the 2 classics, this would be like an 8-9 so it’s sad they took the rnb route :(

One of the best pluggnb albums I’ve ever heard, with amazing, fitting production which goes hand in hand with the albums vibe perfectly. Corey Lingos vocals and lyricism are very very great, and the runtime of the album is very fitting too, it doesn’t get boring, maybe a little repetitive but honestly I didn’t really find that to be a problem. Overall a very fun listen, would definitely recommend this, nothing insane but one that I liked a lot, very sweet!
I do think that this album is a bit overrated, but it’s nonetheless a very nice listen.
What I find to be bad in this album is mostly how samey it feels, the instrumentation, build ups, vocals and other things sound very similar on most-every song. Theres also songs like “Bread Song” and “Haldern” which just seem to go nowhere, they also aren’t sonically impressive at all and just seem like unfitting songs for this album.
However highlights were found in ... read more
b e g o t t e n has one of the coolest sounds in Vaporwave, he manipulates samples in a way to make them murky and bleak, they are very entrancing new versions of old (usually quite popular) songs.
His debut album “Life Cycle” is honestly very impressive, it succeeds in creating a melancholic and isolating atmosphere, perfect for a rainy day like today. I took a nice walk in the rain while listening which made this experience feel very great!
However, maybe that Jocelyn Flores ... read more
They may be called atheist, but this sure is some godly music… haha…
A really nice Slushwave album, one less on the ambient side and more on the instrumental side. This project includes a lot of hypnotic instrumentals that are very soft and floaty on the ears, the album is very airy at sections which I like. Also, I loved the first song, it was very vocally oriented which was reminiscent of something like deaths dynamic shroud for me, idk that song felt very nice. However I do think this album is very very similar to The Binary Ocean, I can hear a lot of the ... read more
Even if rain sounds have been used to death on ambient works, telepath utilises rain here in a very good way, with it being very much in the background of the ambience, rather than being at the forefront of the album. It’s hidden under waves of reverb and tropical drums, and other amazing sounds you hear on this Slushwave project. Overall, this was amazing, Slushwave never fails to make me feel relaxed asf so yeah, this is amazing!
To start with, my hopes for this album were incredibly high, with the first 3 tracks being absolutely outstanding. They sounded authentic with jazzy, scattered instrumentals and Japanese vocals (which I always love more than English vocals). It all sounded very charming and artsy which I loved. However as the project progresses, the songs seem to be getting slower and slower, the energy of the album ends up getting lost and the project just falls flat for me, i really couldn’t care for ... read more
With the devastating passing of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva, it has been a very quiet and sad couple of days for me and my family. We are all very passionate Liverpool supporters, and the shock of such a tragic death of two amazing men left us really hurt. Jota is one of my personal favourite Liverpool players, I had a fanpage for him before I started making music videos, and I have so many memories of singing his chant with my family and watching him play at Anfield, banging in goals always ... read more
After being impressed with AZ’s feature verses on Nas albums, I decided to give his solo work a shot to see if it was any good, and this one was great!
It’s a very laid-back and enjoyable project, AZ’s voice is one of my favourite in boom bap and his voice really is the highlight of this project. The production does seem a little empty on some songs, these were “Uncut Raw” and “We Can’t Win”, which were just very average. Also the beat on ... read more
I know I am being the most basic, annoying person by giving this a 10, but this is deserving of every bit of praise it gets.
From the lyrics, to the production, to its influence Illmatic is just flawless. Lyrically it’s one of the best Hiphop albums oat, maybe only beaten by Mista Thug Isolation by Lil Ugly Mane. I can constantly appreciate Nas’ lyricism throughout the album, his rhyming and flow is perfect on every song, his lyrics are witty, realistic and just fucking brilliant ... read more
A thing I find with boom bap is that while usually being quite repetitive and simple, I always have so much fun with boom bap albums. I find the drums to be rather satisfying, accompanied with some nice background production/instrumentation, I think it sounds authentic and timeless, it still sounds so fresh even though completely new waves of Hiphop have taken over through the years. I also love the vocals, rapping, flows, lyrics and delivery on most boom bap albums, it just all scratches my ... read more
I’ve known about Redman for a long time now, my mum would play some of his stuff in the car when I was younger, but it wasn’t til now I had listened to one of his albums.
Honestly, this is pretty overlooked for me. It’s really ahead of it’s time with its eclectic mix of tracks, energetic and funky instrumentals and entertaining rapping from Redman.
My favourite song was “Time 4 Sumaksion”,the song opened the album amazingly I was vibing heavily to it, the ... read more
An incredible follow up to the classic “The Infamous”, with equally evocative lyricism and quality rapping. Most of the things I like about this album were already mentioned in my review of “The Infamous”, so go check that out for my brief opinion on this album too.
The reason why this isn’t the same score as “The Infamous” is because the production can feel a little shallow on some songs, which I feel can affect the atmosphere of the album, like on ... read more
A fan-favourite within the world of Gangsta Rap, “The Infamous” is the perfect representation of life in a dangerous NYC, truly deserving of the title “Gangsta Rap” with its realistic storytelling and dark production, encapsulating the violent nature of NYC in the 90s. Also, I love the feature list on this thing, it’s stacked with my favourite feature being Raekwon on “Eye For An Eye”.
I did take a nice countryside walk while listening to this, which ... read more
One of the most overrated albums of all time.
The production on here is honestly very good, I will give the album some credit there. it’s smooth at times and energetic at times, almost mimicking a relationship I guess.
But Tyler as a vocalist is absolutely awful, his voice gets unlistenable on this album.
My favourite songs were “Igors Theme” which was really nice, introducing the protagonist of Igor very well. I also liked “Gone Gone Thank You”.
Although I ... read more
