One of the most beautiful albums of the year regardless the language, which is not a really big barrier and, in fact, it's necessary for the aethetics that Klô is searching here: that mystical medieval world filled with the imagination of a child and the pen of a writter. The multiple references to the world of art, from Da Vinci to Van Gogh and Beethoven also helps to create that fantastic atmosphere from another era. Musically there is a lot to say too, everything here just is perfectly ... read more

“Rough and Rowdy Ways” belongs to another time when children gathered around an elder man under the shade of an oak in summer to listen his stories. Bob Dylan was never David Bowie, in my view they are exactly opposite poles. Bowie always sought to innovate and break with the established, while Dylan never stopped relying on a style based on simple and classic melodies that can only work when the voice that soaks them belongs to one of the best writers in the history of music. Bob ... read more

I will delete this when Pi'erre release TLOP5 or when the year end but, anyway, I just wanted to highlight how much good and tragically underrated he is right now. No doubt he is one of the best and most influential producers of our age. Maybe not the best rapper, but he knows what sounds good and what sounds bad for sure and almost everything here is just a vibe in the right mood.

This is not exactly the concept of "Pop" we all have, this is more close to an electronic-ambient album. Even if the sound palette is way more varied and colorful than "Cenizas" by Nicolas Jaar, I still found a lot of similarities between the two projects in, for example, the use of the voice as one more instrument and not as a tool to tell something. But even in its simplicity, "Room for the Moon" is complex rhythmically. If I could only use one word to define it, ... read more

There’s really not a lot to say about this one nor a lot of space to debate. One of the most consistent rappers of our time joins a legendary producer for a half-hour project where both can show everybody their best virtues, I don't think current hip-hop can give us many better collaborations. Freddie deliver is impressive as usual and The Alchemist is probably the weakest side of the duo, but that fact didn't say a lot, cause Gibbs is just too good. I don't think this is better than ... read more

Hey, I have a song out! When you have the chance to, give it a listen. Haven't added it to AOTY yet, so here the YouTube music video link:

I wrote this song and filmed the video while in quarantine. Took many inspirations from Chinese folk and alt-country. The concept of the video and song, I'll leave as a surprise (no spoilers of course), plus it's up to interpretation. Hope I can cheer some people up and get everyone together in these uncertain times, enjoy!
Reviewing albums from 80 and above.

As you might know, 1 is more than 0, 2 is more than 1, 3 is more than 2, 4 is more than 3, 5 is more than 4, 6 is more than 5, 7 is more than 6, 8 is more than 7, 9 is more than 8 and 10 is more than 9.

I tend to overate hip-hop since is the music I mostly enjoy, but also appreciate brave and experimental projects.
