I mean, it's better than most of what he's released the past few years but it's still incredibly bland, painfully uninteresting and obviously released for that easy money. Also, he literally just rapped over a Jai Paul beat.

"Sam's Town" is another energetic, catchy and fun pop rock record with matured songwriting and great production. I also love Brandon's vocals on here, with lots of improved range from the last record. While I don't think it's as good as "Hot Fuss", I still had a lot of fun with this!

Ah, the warm feeling of nostalgia. Some people love it, some people hate it, I'm just like "Fuck it. I'm just gonna relive this moment from both an old and new perspective". "Hot Fuss" has been one of those albums that just takes me back with its retro, new wave aesthetics and introspective themes. I'm not saying that the record is flawless, but The Killers have made a seminal debut album in their career, especially with its catchy songwriting. Like, how the hell have you ... read more
Matt's verse tho!
Edit: Okay. I think this is growing off on me a little bit.
"Ti Amo" has some catchy hooks and stellar production to boot. Disappointingly, though, it's excessively tame and lacks the energy of Phoenix's previous records.

While not up to the standards of "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix", "Bankrupt!" still contains the catchy hooks and beautiful production that made that record fun while adding a new wave-ish twist.

I think these guys might need more attention cuz these songs are catchy as heck. Also, Jack Antonoff has been on a roll lately.
I know that a lot of people are saying this, but the Young Thug feature just takes away from this otherwise really damn good track from Posty.
Welp! We've already went past the point of no return, guys.
While I like the industrial sound on here, "The Construkction of Light" (I absolutely dread typing the titles) is just a huge mess of ideas throughout. It also has some of the absolute worst tracks in King Crimson's entire career.

So, "THRAK" has some outstanding instrumentation and great production, with a few highlights like "Dinosaur". But this album has so much filler that it ends up being King Crimson's most bloated release yet.

As a farewell to the new wave era for King Crimson, "Three of a Perfect Pair" does a pretty good job. Sure, it will never live up to the other iterations' efforts, but the highlights are really high and the closer, which is yet another part of "Larks' Tongues In Aspic", is a great way to cap it off. It stands as one of their weaker albums, but even then it's still solid.

There are only a few interesting moments on "Beat". The rest of the album is just wannabe new wave music. Also, of course the longest track has to be the best on the record.

This is a horrible fucking review. I'm outta here.
"Rogue Intruder, Soul Enhanced" has some pretty cool ideas and the tracks are quirky and fun. The repetitive nature kind of hinders some of its potential, though.

"Fever Dream" is something I wasn't expecting from the otherwise energetic and colorful little indie band I heard on the radio. It's cleanly-produced, but GAWD is it generic! The lack of memorable hooks and songwriting also makes this fall flat as a decent pop record.

"The Big Day" is such a bland, dragging, painfully dull and just all around corny record! Sure, there are a few highlights (the Ben Gibbard feature caught me by surprise), but everything else ranged from forgettable to downright awful. "Hot Shower" has to be one of the most abysmal tracks of the year and I literally sacrificed 77 minutes of my life to review this thing!

"The Lost Boy" is a damn good breakout record for YBN Cordae. While there are comparisons to be made (Kendrick Lamar, especially) and he might need some time to build his own flow, what's on display here is still great. His flow is consistent yet there's also a lot of passion in what he's trying to say. The messages of his struggles are very introspective and heartfelt, and they fit together nicely with the beautiful production. Overall, I'm excited to see where this guy will go ... read more
