Despite many great, up and coming IDM artists lending their hand on "TKOL RMX 1234567", the overall result is a dull remix album that rarely grasped my interest and can be borderline painful to sit through at points.

"No Geography" is definitely one of The Chemical Brothers' best albums in a while! The flow from track to track is fantastic, the synths are great and the production is just fun to listen (and dance) to! Overall, this is another great return to form for one of the pioneers of the big beat scene!

When “Ventura” was first announced, I was a little worried that it would be like “thank u, next” where it would be a similar drop in quality from the previous album that released 6 months prior. Now that I’ve heard the full album, I can happily say that it’s the exact opposite of that. This is some of Anderson .Paak’s most soulful work to date and it’s filled to the brim with hooky melodies, brilliant production and great writing!

There is a reason why "In The Court of the Crimson King" is highly regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time! Of course there wouldn't be any more prog rock music if it weren't for King Crimson. But it's also one of the most sonically-sublime listening experiences ever with so many sounds and flourishes in the instrumentation that just blew me away at first listen!
One more thing I can't forget to mention is the mellotron, an early sampler that plays various sounds with ... read more
Wooow! I loooved this shit! I adored the 60's superhero cartoon aesthetic of this whole thing and the production from Madlib is freaking amazing with some of the most infectious sampling I've ever heard in a hip hop album! MF DOOM is also a huge highlight here with some outstanding rhyme-heavy verses! Overall, this is one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time (and a good reminder that I need to listen to more DOOM)!

What Kevin “Power Bottom” Abstract has released so far are three well-written and beautifully-produced BANGERS!!! Can’t wait for this new project!

Seeing the bucketloads of praise surrounding this album, I was more than interested in listening to it. But I just wanted to speak from a personal point of view and find some sort of criticism. After three listens, I can proudly say that I failed, there was not a single criticism I could find! "Pet Sounds" deserves all of the hype it's already getting and it's one of the most seminal records ever! The melodies and harmonies are just... out of this world! This is the type of stuff that ... read more
“Abbey Road" is wonderfully-produced, infectious and captivating throughout and the first Beatles record I’ve listened to! The first half is already freaking amazing, but the second half, holy crap, it’s one of the greatest musical experiences ever! That's why this has always been in a special place in my heart and it has always been, despite being my second favorite Beatles album, a ten for me!

"Always" adds expands upon the pop sensibilities of "Dear God, I Hate Myself" while also feeling a tad messier. It's still a great collection of songs and the first half is great! But the second half isn't as blissful.

While a little messy, "Dear God, I Hate Myself" (same) is a pretty solid and varied record that meshes a fine line between Xiu Xiu's more pop-oriented works and their experimental works.

Not a bad set of b-sides and remixes, it just feels as if they were freaking out mid-production on what to take out of “Hail to the Thief” and this was the result, if that makes sense.
Fav Tracks: I Am Citizen Insane, 2 + 2 = 5 (Live at Earls Court), Fog (Again) [Live], Skttrbrain (Four Tet Remix), I Will (Los Angeles Version), Where Bluebirds Fly

“I Might Be Wrong” is an example of just how outstanding Radiohead is live! “Idioteque”, “Everything In Its Right Place” are live staples “Like Spinning Plates”, one of my favorites from “Amnesiac”, is somehow more powerful than the studio version, and “True Love Waits” is as emotionally affecting on an acoustic guitar as it is on a piano and remains one of the best songs in their discography 24 years later! "Thirteenth Step" is pretty underrated, in my opinion, and it's my favorite APC album. On top of the great guitar work and vocal performances, the themes of addiction are very consistent and the writing is top-notch! The last leg isn't as great at the rest of the record, but it's still friggin' awesome overall!

In my opinion, "Lateralus" comes pretty damn close to matching "Ænima". It isn't as cohesive as that album, but it took what made it great and built upon it with incredible instrumentation, great writing and outstanding vocal performances from Mayonnaise Jimmy!
Edit: Never mind, this is my favorite Tool album now.

While "Front Row Seat To Earth" can feel a little bloated, it's still a beautiful and well-written psychedelic folk record. Natalie's vocals are stunning and match the beauty of the production almost perfectly with her captivating melodies!

They don't do anything different to the usual pop punk formula, but PUP does things better than most pop punk bands right now. The instrumentation is solid, the lyrics are biting and the choruses are sticky as hell!

Khalid's vocals are front and center and the melodies and production are pretty solid here. But the lyrics go into pretty cliche territory and "Free Spirit" is yet another safe R&B record overall.

Oh right! I've always wanted to review this album, especially since I loved their most recent record! I don't know why it says it came out today but I'll let it pass. So, "Brutalism" is the debut LP from British punk band IDLES and it's weirdly not very socio-political and Joe's voice is way different. The writing isn't as witty but... wait... this isn't IDLES? Oh... shit.

This decade has had its fair share of classic records of many genres, but almost none have instantly hit me with the amount of overwhelming emotion as Weyes Blood's "Titanic Rising". Natalie Mering has one of the most powerful voices out there and the emotional intensity of her inflection is perfectly conveyed through her lyrics and melodies. The production is equally evocative, like the swirling, ascending synth arpeggios that inhabit “Movies” or that freaking slide ... read more
