The Dead Weather amps up the distortion on "Sea Of Cowards" and the results sound great and are performed very strongly. Unfortunately, as this came out only 11 months after its predecessor, it sacrifices any lyrical cohesion. It's still a great Jack White project, though. Probably one of his more aggressive offerings.

Very Good
How many bands does Jack White have to be in? Apparently, many of them. The Dead Weather sounds like if you listened to blues while blazed and laying down next to the wheels of a fucking running sports car! The sound is just awesome, but it's really the great instrumentation and the supertight performances from Alison Mosshart and Jack White that makes "Horehound" such a great rock recording!

Yeah, I just didn't care for this at all. While the first and last tracks are really good, everything else suffers from iffy production and surprisingly vapid lyrics by Bowie standards.

Bowie continues down the industrial direction with some drum 'n bass influences on "Earthling". The production is great, albeit a tad dated by today's standards, and there are some great songs on here. It's not one of his best albums, but it still has some quirky writing and instrumentals galore.

The concept is really intriguing here and the incredible lyricism from Quelle Chris, on top of the great, abstract production, makes "Guns" one of the best hip-hop records of the year! With this kind of versatility, I'm interested in the other records he has released.

This is just a generic reggaeton track. Rosalía, you know better than this.

Okay similarities aside this collab is surprisingly good
Why does that sample make me want to punch someone? Like, this somehow feels worse than "100 Bad Days".
"Dog Whistle" is a short, fun, aggressive and energetic post-hardcore album. It sounds like Rage Against The Machine if you gave Tom Morello a banjo and it's heavy and great while also keeping things decidedly old-school. I like it!

UPDATE (OG Score: 6.9): I did not expect this to grow on me so much. I used to not care a whole lot for this record but, as I kept listening, there were many things I actually fell in love with! Yes, I think "8" is still a bad song and "all the good girls go to hell" tries a little bit too hard to be edgy (even if the production is pretty good), but the rest I thought ranged from good to outstanding! It's a flawed project, but I still think Billie has a lot of potential. A ... read more
I really, really like where the band is going with this. The production is stellar and that intro is freaking awesome! But why does it have to end so abruptly?
Edit: This is shrinking a little...
I mean, it's alright? I like some of the songs on here, I think Billie's voice is competent... if not a little mopey and some elements of the production can show a glimpse of "originality". But the songwriting is generic and her lyrics can be obnoxiously edgy about 75% of the time.

I feel like out of all of Pink Floyd's classics, "Wish You Were Here" is the one that stuck with me the most. Sure, “Dark Side of the Moon” is regarded as their "mainstream" classic. But this album is their most beautiful, varied, experiential and well-written record ever! And to think, this was made mostly as a tribute and farewell to a great member leaving the band.

"Hounds Of Love" is an absolutely beautiful and immaculately-produced (by Kate Bush herself!) pop record! Kate's voice and lyrics have so much emotion put into them! But that's only the first half of the album, because the second half takes an avant-garde turn and introduces an awe-inspiring mini-concept of a woman almost drowning after a shipwreck. Overall, it's an absolutely astonishing and adventurous record from start to finish!

HOOOOOOOOOooooOOOOOooooOOOOooooOOOOOOLY SHET!!! This is probably one of the most gorgeously captivating listens I've ever had!
This shit doesn't leave you hanging for a single minute! All it takes is just four quick snare hits and it whisks you away to multiple universes with its vrooming guitar tones! The mixing and production of this album is just mind-boggling here and these are just simple songs hidden behind these exhausting walls of noise (same could be said about the cover)! While it's a little bit inconsistent, especially in its second half, "Women As Lovers" keeps the solid foundation Jamie Stewart and crew set with their previous efforts with uncomfortably good production and tight songwriting.
Also, holy fuck, a cover of Queen's "Under Pressure" by Xiu Xiu featuring MICHAEL GIRA OF SWANS is something you don't see everyday... and it's glorious!

"The Air Force" is more accessible and pop-centered than previous records but that doesn't mean it doesn't have Xiu Xiu's signature experimentation and thought-provoking lyrics. It's also a more varied album and I think it's an underrated piece in their discography.

A Perfect Circle is a more accessible change of pace from Tool yet it still presents a lot of the anger that Maynard James Keenan puts into Tool's records. His vocals and writing are still as great as ever and the instrumentals and production, while not as dynamic and overpowering as something like "Ænima", is still strong on "Mer De Noms".
