This thing is quirky as shit and I love it! The production on here is phenomenal and has some wildly inventive and catchy samples of plastic materials that make up the beats (i.e. ping pong balls)! It's a colorful, intricately-detailed and insanely creative record that may be one of my favorite IDM projects of the 2010's!

"Lux Prima" is a great collaboration from Karen O & Danger Mouse! Karen's vocals are as full of swagger as ever and she presents herself greatly against some beautiful production from Danger Mouse. While it doesn't do anything cutting edge, it's still a solid collection of art rock jams.

I've already listened to this a couple times during the past year and a half, but holy shit this still remains one of the greatest musical journeys I've ever been on! Everything on "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven" is orchestrated to perfection and the atmosphere and textures are drop-dead gorgeous and more emotive than a lot of other post-rock outfits that try to replicate it! I'm just not going to say anything more about this masterpiece! Just put this album on!

Dammit this album was THIS CLOSE to getting a perfect score from me!!! If only that last track, which serves no purpose in context to the album and is a horrible closer, was cut, this would've been a MASTAPEECE!!!
But despite that issue, "The Queen Is Dead" is a depressingly well-written and hooky album with tons of energy to the band's instrumentation and Morrissey's powerful vocals and lyrics. Overall, it's a British indie classic that still inspires many artists today!

While "La Forêt" isn't as emotionally poignant as Jamie Stewart's previous records, it's still great work with more ugly, haunting soundscapes and thoughtful writing.

More eerieness, more weirdness and more depression YAAAY!!! "Fabulous Muscles" is a pretty good entry point in their discography and yet another incredible Xiu Xiu album with great writing, unnerving atmosphere and more of Jamie Stewart's tortured vibrato.

"Undertow" is a great debut album that showcases Tool's harsh metal sound with great vocal performances from Maynard James Keenan, incredible instrumentation and introspective, thought-provoking lyrics. The thing bringing this album down is the fact that they can do better than this.

It's an alright first effort. The two live tracks are the best sounding out of the entire EP while the rest suffers from some rather awful mixing. Other than that, the tracklist is pretty damn good (except for "Hush").

Fucking hell! At least "Goodbye & Good Riddance" had some enjoyable cuts here and there. "DEATH RACE FOR LOVE" forced me to go through 72 MINUTES of samey, shitty material. There are a few good moments in the track list and that cover is just fucking awesome! But this album just felt like torture and I already wanted to leave 5 tracks into this 22-track record.

Ugh I love this! I love the writing, melodies and production here! Stella has a great, crass sense of humor that mixes well with the more personal and delicate aspects of the songwriting. Also, "Boys Will Be Boys"... holy shit.

"Sucker Punch" is better than I expected it to be, actually. It's a little generic and Sigrid doesn't throw any punches lyrically, but most of the hooks are excellent and the production is very fun to listen to!

Despite some dark, punchy electronic soundscapes and A-list collaborators, "Hyperion" becomes exhaustively tedious on the last three tracks and... *sigh* the way Abel wrote the second verse on "Lost In The Fire" continues to piss me off.

The first half of "Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost" is a fun, well-written and gorgeously-produced record that recaptures Foals' classic sound while also making it sound even better than before! While I'm curious to see how the second part will pan out, and I don't know specifically why it's split in two yet, I have extremely positive feelings toward this first part overall!

While "Tasmania" becomes inconsistent during the latter half of the record, Pond delivers some interesting aesthetics with Kevin Parker's fingerprints all over them and addresses societal problems with solid writing.

"Good At Falling" has a nice aesthetic with some beautiful production and the lyrics, while nothing to write home about, are heartfelt. But I feel like aspects of the instrumentation could've been arranged in a more interesting way and the whole thing ends up being a little bland.

Goddammit Little Simz is just too capable of a rapper for this world! Her flows and delivery are potent as hell and her lyrics are sharp and intriguing! But this wouldn't be a terrific hip hop record if she wasn't so on point with the outstanding production too, which forgoes modern rap cliches in favor of great live instrumentation. Overall, this is one of the most forward-thinking rap records of the year!

"When I Get Home" stunned me the whole way through! The production is immaculate, the features are excellent and Solange's voice is downright sexy and silky smooth! Overall, this is a beautiful and cohesive record! Highly recommend you listen to this in a dimly lit room. It just makes the listening experience even better!

This isn't their worst album but holy shit does it have a few of Weezer's worst songs to date. There are a handful of solid cuts here, "High As A Kite" is actually one of their best songs in a while, the whole thing is very catchy and well-produced and it handles the pop angle A LOT better than "Pacific Daydream". But the bad outweighs the good as their SIXTH self-titled album is littered with horrible, mindless writing and a lack of creativity, coupled with the oh so ... read more
