Skrillex - Quest For Fire

ugh i love this album. leave me like this, tears, and xena are masterpieces. skrillex is and will forever be the goat

Declan McKenna - Zeros

incredible album front to back. the instrumentation is so so so so good, its kind of mindblowing.

the key to life on earth is a certified webby banger

Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever
75

happier than ever is her best song

Charli xcx - how i'm feeling now
85

shes always been that girl

SZA - SOS

i never rly got this one

Taylor Swift - folklore
72

(her best album) updated review: idk if i agree w my past self. 1989 and speak now are about just as good as this album. as far as her big genre shifts go i think this is her best one. it doesnt feel like shes trying too hard or putting herself into a box sonically; folklore feels like the natural next step from a post-lover taylor in the midst of the pandemic. the bon iver collab is a great call. seven is maybe her best song? nothing i particularly dont like, just gets repetitive.

Fontaines D.C. - Romance

love this vibe starburster is amazing

Charli xcx - Brat and it's completely different but also still brat
90

(10/10 and its completely different but also still 10/10) updated review: i forgive myself for giving this a perfect score because of how fucking genius and well executed the concept is. docked points for the couple of skips :( do not let this take away from the blessing upon music that is the girl so confusing remix. i never thought for a second my voice was in your head. ugh.

Charli xcx - BRAT

literally genius.

Travis Scott - Rodeo

1-7 (minus wasted) are perfect tbh

The Weeknd - Dawn FM

i love the front half of this album but i dont come back to the back half often. bonus points for mr truman show

The Weeknd - Kiss Land
70

last half of kissland and tears in the rain are the two best weeknd songs

Tame Impala - Lonerism
92

this album grows on me every year. i always thought it was amazing, but this past year i found a new connection with lonerism. it's left its mark on me in an irreversible way. while i could make the argument that currents or the slow rush are better (i certainly have listened to them a few hundred times), this one lives with me in a way those don't. the verses of music to walk home by are some of his best writing. every time i hear "i just dont know how to feel right" i ... read more

Tame Impala - InnerSpeaker

i love innerspeaker as a listening experience. his genius was visable so early on in his career. while i might prefer kevin's more synthesizer heavy records, this exists as a separate, but beautiful, psych rock record. runway, houses, city, clouds is one of my favorite tame impala tracks of all time, but there isn't really a skip on this record. in the off chance someone reads this review, do yourself a favor and watch the wave house performance of this album. changed the way i see ... read more

Justin Timberlake - Everything I Thought It Was

he fell into the charlie puth "incredible talent to bland and bad music" pipeline. sorry king, im still bumpin suit and tie and mirrors once a week tho.

KAYTRANADA - 99.9%

most enjoyable "put this on while you're doing work" album everrrrrr. thats not a dig, i genuinely think theres magical sound waves in this to make me get shit done.

If the album was just the first 5 tracks this would be a 100. it falls into the mid album slump pretty hard for me, but charli can't make a bag song so it's still enjoyable. looooove those first 5 tho.

Fred again.. - USB
70

i think that fred is one of the most talented musicians in the scene right now- but he hasn't figured out how to translate his appeal into an album. i'm not sure if he cares about that at all, which in that case i think he has earned enough merit as an artist to decide to have his albums be a low priority. That being said, I think he has the ability to make one of the best house albums of all time if decided to, but until that day comes im content with watching the boiler room set and ... read more
