So for this album, Beck takes a card from Ween and makes a funk rock outing that has an aura of LMLYP. Beck’s song writing is at peak here, although hearing him sing in a falsetto is quite odd. There’s also something funny about hearing Beck, an omnipotent asexual god, sing about getting laid and shit.
Anyway, it’s one of the best Beck albums. MAKE IT A MUST LISTEN
The fact that this song is about boycotting a store that exploits gay people for money is making me think that this guy maybe DOESNT know everything about the liberal left… hmmm

This Beck album feels very much connected to Ween and I say that for numerous reasons: the guitar tones and eclectic styles, songs that feel connected to medieval tunes, and most of all: genuine emotion. A Front To Beck Deep-Dive of Beck's Discography Part 5
So here we have Odelay, commonly considered Beck’s magnum opus, which is in no way bad. It’s the first Beck album that doesn’t just contain an abundance of folk songs, and adds a new twist: Cake-style hip-hop rock mixes with psychedelic acoustic rock.
The rap rock songs are clearly a high point, and as hard as this is for a Beck fan to say, Devil’s Haircut was a little mid. Sorry, all!
