Lana Del Rey - hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have - but i have it

When I read the title, I was "oh shit another cringy song about how sad she is". This one shows how Lana del rey has evolved from her beginning. Positively I mean !

Her vocals aren't anymore soporific, there is a very specific dynamic (which I also find in Venice Bitch and mariners apartment complex). While she seems to throw numerous words and lines for few ideas, some of them are really good like the raw "Don't ask if I'm happy, you know that I'm not, but at best I can say I'm not sad". Not the most complex, but a good example of what she can do.

A classic piano/voice song but a solid one.

"soporific" is a great word. at first I read it as "sophomoric", but really, either way ...

I wasn't sure that soporific could be used in english (the french word is soporifique, so it was well-chosen by chance haha). Sophomoric could be also used in a certain way. Every previous albums sounds so much the same, we can say that this is her "true" second album.
