My first job was pushing carts for my local Walmart. I worked 2-11 during the time and I would always sneak in music while working away from all the crazy managers on the inside. When I tell you I played this live album more than any other ever. The power this blues record gives off is nothing short of transcendental. There would be nights where I came back from lunch and this would be one of the only things I would listen to in that parking lot while looking at the stars in the sky. If it ... read more
If I could make the track "Summerfair" last 40 minutes longer I would. Really big fan of the guitar work on this record! I would say the only negative thing about this record is the fact there is only 4 songs overall and that the vocals don't really blow me away. Every song on this album keeps me interested all the way through and I have to say I don't dislike any of the tracks. I hope to one day own an original copy of this!
My personal favorite album by Pastor Barrett for certain. The choir brings such a powerful element to the rest of Barrett's incredible vocals.
Favorite tracks: "Like a Ship" "Nobody Knows" and "Joyful Noise"
You don't even need to believe in anything to get down with some of the tracks on this album y'all. This was one of my first leaps into more gospel-ish funk and I have to say it's been amazing going. Some of these tracks will have you moving in ways you didn't even think were possible.
Favorite Tracks: "I Shall Wear A Crown" "Do Not Pass Me By" "There Is Only One"
Great record for jamming or just laying back and relaxing. Great funky bass work in "Funky Motion" along with crazy nice mellow work in "Breeze" and "One for Jiroh". Really happy to have this one in my collection.
Favorite tracks: "Painted Paradise" "Funky Motion" "Scratch" and "Funky Stuff".
This is usually where I go to get incredible guitar work from Vic Vergeat himself. The vocals are really solid and the long songs never feel like they overstay their welcome in my honest opinion. The crazier thing is that I prefer this record than their first self-titled album "Toad" that came out a year prior. While that album has really great fuzz guitar, this has more of what I'm looking for from the band overall. The change in tone throughout some of these tracks is really ... read more
Going back and revisiting this soundtrack after playing the game is such a treasure. All the songs fit the theme of the mission at hand in the game and it just works out super well. One of the greats of video game OST's for sure. Amon knocked it out of the park. Just really wished "Bank" was on this album as well!
Favorite tracks: "The Lighthouse" "Ruthless" "Theme From Battery" "El Cargo" and "Ruthless (Reprise)".
This is where it all starts for most y'all. This record has such a strong presence from song to song that it makes you wish it could go on forever. Starting this album right off the bat with "Fire Years" makes you feel emotions you aren't even prepared to experience man. This whole album is song after song of consistent bangers.
Favorite tracks: "Five Years" "It Ain't Easy" "Hang On To Yourself" "Suffragette City" and "Ziggy ... read more
It's hard to not want to play Side A of the LP on repeat all day just because of how well all the tracks blend together. Some of his best work in my opinion is on this record.
Favorite Tracks: "Diamond Dogs" "Sweet Thing" "Sweet Thing (Reprise)" "Rebel Rebel" and "1984"
Lyrically incredible, vocals are strong in most songs as well. Sound quality of the LP overall is a little rough but still a very impressive record overall. Guitar work is alright but I stay at this album for its overall lyrics for certain.
Favorite tracks: "August Song" "Ring Out The Bells" "Putrescence" and "Smile Song"
First got into Gustavo Santaolalla through The Last of Us and stayed when I listened to his other stuff as well. This album is just amazing through and through all the way to the finish. More than likely my all time favorite acoustic/ album. Highly recommend you listen to his 2017 album "Raconto" for even more great stuff!
Always on the search for the bootleg of this LP labeled "Unpronounceable" because of how incredible the live performances of "Waiting Man" and "Sleepless" were. Overall, Live in Japan might be my all time favorite King Crimson live album to as of writing this!
Favorite tracks: "Thela Hun Ginjeet" "Frame By Frame" "Waiting Man" "Sleepless" and " Elephant Talk".
Man, it's so sad that he passed away so young. There is a reason this is called "The Living Legend". A voice you could never forget or want to! Incredibly strong vocals and you can just feel the real love that was poured into these songs. If his version of "A Change Is Going to Come" doesn't make you feel something, I don't know what will. RIP.

I don't even really know how to review this without just saying it made me very emotional. I'm completely new to Opera as of the time of writing this tiny review but this was a very moving experience to listen to.
Favorite tracks: "Act II, Scene 2, 'Tre enigmi m'hai proposto'" "Act III, Scene 1, 'Principessa divina'" "Act III, Scene 2, 'Diecimile anni al nostro Imperatore'. 'Padre Augusto'" and finally ... read more
Great heavy guitar with some surprisingly good vocals along for the ride! "Hassles" being the opening track really sets you up well for what you're in for. My personal stand out tracks are "Clown On A Rope" "Bad Boy Turns Good" "Sleep Bound" and of course "Hassles".
This used to be ranked as one of my all time favorite albums. It's still high up there, but there is always more and more to find. Farm formed in 1969 and split in 1973 with their only release being this self-titled LP. Guitar work and vocals are pretty solid here with a pretty nice rendition of "Statesboro Blues" that would hopefully make Blind Willie McTell proud. Real standout tracks are "Cottonfield Woman" and "Sunshine In My Window".
I mainly bought this LP because of the track "Street" which just blew me away from the second it started. The vocals are alright but I stayed for the shredding guitar which is just killer all throughout this EP. "The Worm" and "Father of America" are okay, but the real take away is "Street" for sure.
Simply put, this is one of my all time favorite albums (so far) for a reason. Unique vocals, string arrangements and song themes. Such a shame we didn't ever get a proper studio recording of " The Malgaard Suite" and only the cassette recording off of the the album "Out Of The Coma".
