Thanks for the rec, @improbable4th! Metalcore / Nu-metalcore isn’t usually my lane, and this release didn’t quite grab me. There are a few solid instrumental ideas, but nothing that fully held my attention. The vocals also feel underpowered and struggle to carve out a distinct identity. Still, I can see this finding an audience within the scene that gravitates toward this style.
Nourished By Time’s "The Passionate Ones" swirls with danceable psychedelic modulation, infused with a mid-to-late ’90s R&B swagger. Marcus Brown’s compositions open countless doors for melodic hooks to elevate the music. But too often, those opportunities go unexplored. Their earlier work hinted at real potential, offering genuinely unique and chaotic listening experiences that pushed against genre conventions. ... read more
While the album showcases some exciting moments, it ultimately suffers from overly sterile production that undermines the strength of the songwriting. There’s plenty to enjoy—particularly the layered vocal harmonies, melodic guitar work, and dynamic drumming. At times their breakdowns echo nostalgic rhythmic patterns found on A Life Once Lost’s “Hunter.” However, the mix leaves much to be desired: tom fills often feel buried, the bass is scarcely audible, and some ... read more
