Meddle has a much different sound than the previous year’s Atom Heart Mother, and the blues and rose colours of the album colour do a pretty good job at showing that. Just like cow album, Meddle also has a side-spanning track, “Echoes”, which is an objective improvement from the previous album’s suite; and in general, it does feel like the members of the band are working with each other for all of the tracks. Atom Heart Mother is the first Pink Floyd album which sees the group going away from a primarily psychedelic sound and getting more ambitious. The opening instrumental track is the most orchestral track the guys would make up until The Wall in 1979. But I feel that it is the first really long song from the group that goes on for a bit too long, like it could be about three minutes shorter. Yo xander! I’ve been getting inspiration to make another community list in these past few days, and I’ve just thought of a question that kind of interested me to see people’s choices; what’s a song you know that sounds super happy but is actually sad, due to lyrical content and/or backstory?
