Peaceful as Hell is incredible. I found out about Black Dresses when their album Thank You came out in 2019, and they quickly became one of my favorite artists. I was super excited to see what the duo what do in 2020, and they came out with what is arguably their most consistent, powerful, and unique-sounding album. Every aspect of Peaceful as Hell, from the imaginative and sometimes abrasive instrumentals to the incredibly catchy and moving lyrics, comes together to create an album that to me ... read more

I've never been a fan of Akon's music, but this project kind of took me by surprise. It's a really enjoyable pop rap album with some super catchy hooks and surprisingly conscious lyrics. I was honestly really surprised that such an introspective and lyrical album came from an artist who I previously associated with mindless party rap. It's definitely nothing amazing, but it was a ton of fun to listen to and it left me smiling when it was over.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to listen to this, but now that I've heard it I'm so glad that I finally did. I don't think there's really much I need to say about this album, as it's incredible influence has been well-documented and pretty much everyone that's heard it sings it's praises. While I will admit that I didn't get quite as much out of this as some people do, I did thoroughly enjoy it. It's a very atmospheric, hypnotic, and surprisingly danceable album that I had a ton of fun ... read more

To my ears, KiCk i is a nearly perfect album. While this is undoubtedly Arca's most accessible release, it still manages to be just as exciting, forward-thinking, and groundbreaking as her most experimental work. It's both a powerful and incredibly fun album, and I cannot see myself ever getting tired of it. I have no doubt that KiCk i will be a strong contender for my favorite album of 2020.

I really wanted to like this album. And I'm not just saying that either, I legitimately tried to love this album. I've never been a particularly big fan of Taylor Swift's music, but when I first heard that she was releasing a more folk-influenced album and saw the album cover I was immediately intrigued. I was actually pretty excited to see what she was going to do with this album and how different it would be from her previous albums. But when I actually listened to Folklore I was left ... read more
