Pegasus Bridge - While were young
Had to add this album on here. Fancied listening to it as I liked ‘Ribena’ already so thought I would give the rest a listen. Kind of a basic indie album with a bit of angst here and there. ‘Ribena’ and ‘violence’ are the best songs by far imo.
Mitski - The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We
This calm and peaceful track list was nice to enjoy but I enjoyed the underpinning dank sense of it gore making it a decent listen for the first mitzski album I’ve Review it’s decent.
Baby Keem - The Melodic Blue
I think that there isn’t much consistency on here, the best song is ‘16’ and it’s different to all the other songs. Few decent features but nothing special.
Olivia Rodrigo - GUTS
Yeh it’s ok, not as good as SOUR. My initial feeling is that Olivia Rodrigo has lost her authenticity and this is just straight out of the record label factory. The songs are more basic and not as fun, although she shows of her great vocals in a few songs it’s all just a bit sombre.
Paramore - After Laughter
Paramore left behind their angsty rock vibes with this album and switched to a calmer more pop vibe album. The opening track ‘hard time’ is easily the best track with not much coming close to it. Although the album seems pretty consistent throughout, there isn’t much experimentation into this new genre for the band. Overall, decent album.
Rihanna - Good Girl Gone Bad
Great album by Rihanna. Mixture of great hits and other songs that show her skill as an artist. Although there is a bit of filler, still a great album
Dream - to whoever wants to hear
Yeh, just stick to Minecraft 🔥
Amy Winehouse - Back to Black
Still one of the best voices in music. With this great album, came some class hits and some mellow album tracks that come together to make a great project. Shame she had to go so soon.
OutKast - Stankonia
I’ve only bothered to rank non-interlude songs and although this has some top tier hits on here, some of it is just a bit weird imo. I don’t mind the comedic lyrics here and there but for some of them it last the whole song and it ain’t that funny. Hats off to Outkast though as they’re very clever on this album and are a very clever duo in general.
Radiohead - Kid A
Are you ill, alone and feeling sad? Radiohead is for you!
Kid A is a very good album with a mix of calming and soothing tracks but also disturbing lyrics. Some songs drag in typical Radiohead style but at least they sound good.
Gabriella Cilmi - Lessons to Be Learned
Kinda looks like Miley Cyrus, got a voice kinda like Amy Winehouse, got the production of a bin.
Royal Blood - Back to the Water Below
Pretty sure I heard a few of these live. Regardless, great album with a range of tracks. Not the most hard hitting project that they have produced but being a bit mellower is no bad thing, especially for their portfolio of work.
Paramore - Riot!
Not the greatest album from paramore but being only there second album, listening to this after their later stuff shows their progression as a band and how they’ve explored different styles, this album is massively saved by ‘Misery Business’.
The Backseat Lovers - When We Were Friends
First time listening to The Backseat Lovers and I have to say I’m impressed. A diverse album with different styles with every track sounding decent rather than having filler. The sound is a mix between bands like catfish and the bottlemen, Radiohead and the xx imo.
Dave - Meridian
Just a bit boring tbh
Hot Milk - A Call To The Void
Decent album. I think it sounds similar to other bands in this type of genre like bad omens. Saying that, it’s a style I like so even though a couple songs are a tad boring, they still sound good.
Inhaler - It Won't Always Be Like This
Decent album but some songs drag on and it sounds basic in places but the opening track is a great song.
Not the biggest fan of this genre but thought I’d give it a listen anyway. I think there’s some great track on this but also a large amount of filler. Tracks like ‘Honesty’ and ‘Apologise’ are the standout tracks for me with ‘My Ex’ not too far behind them.
My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
Decent album but I think it’s tainted by The Black Parade even though it was earlier. The black parade demonstrates the progression from this as this is ok but The Black Parade is so much better than this.
Olivia Rodrigo - bad idea right?
Not too sure if I’m gonna enjoy GUTS but this ain’t bad
