DDD: Weezer 4/20
it is in fact underrated
"maladroit" is weezer's fourth studio album. and it is such a jump in quality compared green, because it is actually great. and most importantly, it is CONSISTENTLY great. this album features 13 bangers with majority of them being some of their best songs ever. also i'm just thankful that the songwriting is miles better than anything off of green.
maladroit takes everything that went wrong with green and obliterates it. the sound ... read more

this album makes me really angry
"green" is a turning point for weezer, because it marks the beginning of their "downfall". after the traumatizing failure of pinkerton, the band wanted to change things up for better. also, bassist matt sharp left the band to focus on his side-project, the rentals. the band brought in mikey welsh (r.i.p.) which only played in the band for one single album, which is this one. and this one is truly one of the albums of all ... read more

each time i listen to this front to back, it gets better
"pinkerton" is weezer's sophomore album, released in 1996. and it is a significant shift in tone compared to their debut. it is the second of the two albums that people generally know out of all weezer albums, and it brings a debate to the table about which album is better. the thing that is really interesting to me is that people enjoy them for complete opposite reasons.
"blue" featured a ... read more
a mixture of pure mediocrity and some actual interesting stuff
madison beer is an artist that never really struck a chord with me, and this album proves it even further. it feels like she couldn't find her artistic identity yet, as some songs are filled with electropop influences (which i find those songs to be quite enjoyable except for one), and the rest are just inoffensive background music. i just wish that the album leaned into the electropop influences more.

i swear, if i see this album cover one more time
I kinda lost interest in reviewing stuff like 4 months ago. But today, i woke up and thought that i had nothing better to do, so i wanted to come back to reviewing with a banger. And i decided to go through ALL OF the Weezer albums after like 2 years of not listening to the band (except for Pinkerton, that album will forever be the goat).
The Blue Album is the band's debut album, and it is also the first of the two ... read more
thick as hell guitars, catchy chorus, and one of the best bridges he's ever come up with. easily one of his best songs
i get the idea but the silence between the songs are so annoying while listening on shuffle 😭
I know people often refer to this album as Is This It 2, but i honestly think that this album's sound has a significantly different vibe to it and i think it is slightly better than it's predecessor. The only reason this album is lower is that it lacks the consistency. It has some top tier Strokes songs, but it has lower lows than Is This It. Some of the songs feel less memorable and ... read more
as amazing as hesitant alien is, i can't help but wonder what if the album sounded more like these two absolute MASTERPIECES right here.
troublemaker might be the dumbest song i've ever heard in my life
Last week i listened to all of the trilogy albums in one sitting, and it was not the best experience. They all share some certain problems, such as the sound of them being consistently overproduced, having a lot of filler in them, them featuring some of the band's worst lyrics, and 37 tracks being a biiig stretch. But, that doesn't mean they are godawful, they are just not that great compared to the band's ... read more
i can't remember anything about this album aside from 2 songs and that one family guy lyric, which is telling something
I wasn't even aware of a new Tame Impala album's existence. And when i first saw the user score, i was really confused considering how consistent Kevin Parker is when it comes to making good music, so i decided to give it a listen. I kinda agree with the user score now...
To begin with, it is a completely different direction for Kevin. I always think that an ... read more
eh, Billy Corgan's voice isn't the best on it and it's also a bit repetitive, but it's certainly not the worst thing they've put out.
EDIT: 93 ----> 96 it keeps growing on me so fast it's actually becoming scary.
also nvm Downstairs is now my favorite twenty one pilots song
the era that single-handedly got me back into the band
"Breach" is Twenty One Pilots' seventh studio album, and their final album tied to the Dema storyline. Some people may find it underwhelming but i think that the band has outdone themselves with it.
Last year, "Clancy" was said to be the conclusion to the Dema ... read more

"Viva Las Vengeance" is absolute rock bottom. I thought that Pray for the Wicked was bad but holy shit this is BAD. Like, bad bad. There are so many elements that go horribly wrong, and honestly, i'm not even gonna start with the positives, because there are absolutely no ... read more

what could've possibly happened in the span of 2 years to go from DoaB to this bullshit
"Pray for the Wicked" is Brendon's second solo project and it is a massive downgrade compared to the somewhat decent Death of a Bachelor. After i listened to DoaB and found out how good it turned out to be even though it was a solo project, i thought Brendon would ... read more
my glorious king gerard way
So, let's take a look back to 2013. My Chemical Romance announced their disbanding, and naturally the fans were very upset about it. Hell, if i was a MCR fan back in the day, it would've felt like the end of the world. And the members would part ways, eventually some of them having solo careers. A year later, Gerard would release a solo album (which is his one and only solo LP to this day), "Hesitant Alien". And it is the last thing you would ... read more
I was never big on Earl Sweatshirt, and unfortunately this album doesn't do much for me. It relies heavily on samples and i generally liked the way it was produced, but Earl is rapping like he had only 2 hours of sleep. There isn't a flat out bad song on the album but it doesn't have any that impressed me either. Maybe some other album he has can change my mind for the better.
