USB.1 is three tracks of the most bog-standard and mediocre hybrid trap. Nothing on here is unpleasant but it's all so boring and forgettable. ‘Stop Drop Roll’ just has way too much going on in its opening moments that it all comes out as an incohesive mess, the drums are tacky, the vocal samples are tacky and the drops, while there is admittedly a little enjoyment to be had, for the most part I just find them lacking in anything particularly interesting. ‘Rhythm ... read more
At least one half of Pixel Terror still knows what they are doing.
"USB.1" just reinforces a suspicion I’ve quietly carried for a while: we’re really starting to see who actually held the steering wheel in Pixel Terror. When they split, I didn’t think too hard about which half would stick the landing. Pixel Terror’s music was fun and chaotic, but I assumed the energy came equally from both. Turns out, not quite.
