this was fun. youtube recommend me On The Wire and it got me right off the bait, the flowing bass on that song is crazy. i've always loved an album where you still can listen to the live instrument and not being over produced.
Big Talk is a great debut from Couch. so much groove, with good lyricism and great vocal. not forgetting the horn and saxo being the main character of this whole album. this album sounds like they're really having fun making it. go take a listen guys!!
The disco/funk vibes on display on "Big Talk" exemplify the best traits of a modern pop album with the groove and smoothness of something a little more indie. The result is an incredibly likeable, easy-listening experience with great use of brass instrumentation and soulful harmonies. It's straightforward fun.
A Throwback To Late 70's R&B, In A 2025 Context
This was recommended to my by a user on Record Club called Bryan Ekberg, so thank you for recommending me this band. I can see why people might like this album but for me it's far too airy with it's sound and can't hold any melodies to really stick the landing with which was quite disappointing.
