Distorted Sound

Deftly crafted melodies betwixt bouts of hefty riff work will certainly attract the old faithful and newcomers alike. Genotype possesses everything you could wish for from the progressive metal flagbearers.

SWEET ANTICIPATION

The ambitious double album project, "Phenotype" and "Genotype", was unveiled in 2016 with the first of the two albums, which harked back to the Djent sound of their great early days.

The second never saw print because, suddenly, after the tour to promote the aforementioned album, Textures disbanded for unspecified personal reasons.

Finally, the first Textures album since 2016's Phenotype. Genotype is its long-awaited counterpart, and despite the band going on hiatus, its 2016 lineup remains fully intact, and their time off clearly hasn't affected the quality of their songwriting very much. The melodies are as strong as ever, and the songs are massive in scale, making Genotype a true feast for the ears.
