As far as debut albums go, HypernormaL is wonderful. From start to finish you are encapsulated in the world of Shelf Lives. It’s a tour de force of noise that seduces you, teases you and leaves you wanting more as soon as it’s over.

hypernormaL is an assured debut that meets the moment in a distinctive, clever fashion. It’s also one big, giant vibe. Even so, somewhere in the cracks is potential for their future to sound even bigger.

A solid debut album, even if it doesn’t quite reach incredible heights. The beats are engaging and keep the energy moving, though they don’t necessarily bring much that feels new to the genre.

The production works, but it sometimes feels like it could be sharper or more refined. There are moments where the mix doesn’t fully highlight the strengths of the songs.
