I found this album to be rousingly enjoyable. Full of ripping Trad Metal anthems, it's tons of fun. The guitar work is stellar and the riffs are tasty. The vocals are great and Mike Freeland should be lauded for keeping his voice in such great shape at 63 years young. The songs aren't the most varied sounding of all time, and are a bit samey, but they all rock so in this case it's really ok.
