I'm still torn on these "Virtual Dream Plaza" albums. On one hand, he pumped out like a hundred of these in the span of two years, and they are all incredibly similiar to one-another, each advocating for the same tried-and-true method — on the other hand, it's not like I'm not having an enjoyable experience listening to all of them, even if it's a bit repetitive or boresome at times. Luke Laurila is a genius. Nothing he's made has ever been replicated, and no matter how much vaporwave I hear, none of it strikes the same chord with me that his does. Everything he releases is so hypnotic, so beautiful, and so tranquil to me, and the fact that I still to this day am at a loss to how a lot of his material was produced is just a testament to how unique his particular brand of vaporwave and ambient was.
