Key album for the Chicago emcee, with a cohesive sounding, immaculately-produced boom bap production sound. This is a great starting point for the decade's underground hiphop sound in Chicago because of it's influence establishing it, but also for his best lyrical content to date. Coming from a place inspired by the likes of hometown hero Common, and going on to inspire the sound we identify the city with, soulful, jazz and gospel sample-based uplifting blend of rap and singing.
