This somewhat obscure album this week is a funky jazz rock band's 3rd release, which seems like it might be more accessible than the others, and cracked the Billboard 200 at the time. As usual with this genre, they go all over the place with instruments, but maybe less adventurous than I expected. It can be a little underwhelming at times but has some great stretches such as Child of Storm and Far Beyond, which have a kind of space age feel to them. Nice project.
