By far the best Salome performance. Gerhard Stolze as Herodes is fantastic, and he brings an intensity to the role I have not found in any other recording since. Obviously though, the real star of the show is Birgit Nilsson, who is far and away the best Salome I've ever heard. The orchestra is also fantastic. Everything about this recording is just great!
