This was my first time listening to this record despite it coming out when I was a kid. Maybe too young, I'd have been eight years old and was more likely to be listening to an old record of The Final Countdown by Europe than to the Stereo MCs. But I digress.

The influence of the Happy Mondays and The Stone Roses is all over this LP. That being said, the MCs manage to put their own stamp on things and have produced a record of its time, but one that I can also hear in the Fontaines DC ... read more

Random CD from under my bed: #1

I had a shitload of CDs under my bed that I’ve been given or picked up from the charity shop for 5 for £1 that I’ve just never got round to listening to so I’m going to start now.

I think I mainly picked this up because of the cover. I also really love the song “Connected” like what a fucking tune!!
The experimental (druggy) sound of this album reminds me of Screamadelica by Primal Scream if it was more electronic.
