Pretty, Peaceful and Slow.
'Pilot’ is a tender chamber-pop debut, warm and cosy but too short and subdued. The songs feel like they would’ve benefitted from a full tracklist on an LP - the EP format feels too brief and restraining. Nonetheless, Sky Daddy displays a fantastic array of songwriting talent and potential.
Best Tracks: ‘His Masterpiece’
It’s really chill with some great moments. Out of any of the BCNR band members k thought that Tyler Hyde would have the most expansive solo career, but I believe this is the only thing she has ever worked on outside of BCNR. I don’t know who “skydaddy” is, but his vocals on this album remind me of Cameron Picton on the new band believe record. They’re incredibly intimate and fairly odd which brought my rating down a little bit.
lush, somber, and often anxious in a subdued way. i love this. i feel it captures a certain quality of living in the current age, and as i’ve listened to this over and over i feel comforted. i recommend this to anyone looking for a contemplative journey through sounds and silence.
