Just four more compositions finish this album, and again it’s the ghost of The Zombies that occasionally hovers above, as well as further memories of Nico and The Velvet Underground. These are pleasant memories, unlike the hail that is falling outside, striking the window in front of where I work. Be they Memorials, Electrelane, or WIRE, these are groups that will warm the cockles of your heart.

Although these grooves might not have been exactly what he was imagining, Vanilla Jenner has certainly given us a gift in this debut album, that I can only hope ignites her creativity yet more.

To anyone who might suggest that in 2022, Suede are no longer relevant, my answer to this is to take a listen to this album.
