i have a bit of nostalgia for joywave despite the band not really being that old, i just spent a lot of my years with them since the release of this album. i'm a bit biased in that regard (...they are my favorite band after all), but i will always happily accept from others that joywave is not by any means a crazy entrepreneur or innovator of new sounds, they are just simply "pretty good".

god, this album is one of the most beautiful experiences. i'm a sucker for most shoegaze/dreampop already, but the way this album swings back and forth between gentle, phantasmagoric soundscapes and distortion is incredible.
finding the track "a lilybulb" is what got me into the album, and i've ended up with "kohane" being my favorite, despite it being the least streamed track (?!). something about it is just such a great conclusion to this album and has so much emotion ... read more
