in possibly my largest musical hot take: the fabled concept album Ok Computer isnt suuuper good
i’ll just copy what i said to my friend about OKC:
it’s a good concept album and the music itself is good and it’s well produced. it’s overall great. but i didn’t need radiohead to tell me technology is going to automate us into unfeeling machines…ive known this since before i knew what a thom yorke was. the feelings of deep self isolation and loneliness and inadequacy that they explore… they’re just normal facets of my being. it’s not that interesting to me. this is just what i experience every day of my life.
my meanest critique of OKC on a bad day is “sad people music for people who have never wanted to die for a year straight”
possibly too negative. but whatever. it’s not horribly special to me. just a good album
