This album is one of the more addicting and sweet Midwest Emo albums I have heard in recent years. There's so many catchy earworms on here, with just the right amount of angst and wistfulness that Midwest Emo needs to scratch my itch. Definitely some questionable choruses here and there, and some melodies don't quite hit the way they should. But the majority of these tracks create nice moments and are really fun to listen to.

only band ever that could cover King Crimson, Taylor Swift, and Captain Beefheart. TBE TBE TBE TBE TBE TBE TBE TBE TBE TBE TBE
Holy fuck this is insane. I have only heard Nonagon Infinity and Infest the Rats Nest from them but this might be my favorite song from them.
EDIT:
On relistening, I do find some issues in the mix, some parts get a bit muddy and way too fuzzy, momentarily. But anyway, this is still one of the best songs I've heard this year, and one of the best I've heard from them.
Blew my expectations out the water. I hadn't heard of Nilufer before this, glad to have found them through this site. I've had this album on repeat for 3 days now and haven't gotten tired of it at all.
The writing is pretty direct, and catchy on most tracks. The thing that really sells me on this though, is the sound palette and the really cool instrumental elements each of these tracks provides. The bass on stabilise, the guitar riff on midnight dun, the fast drum patterns on a lot of these ... read more
Beat is really cool, slick and killer verses as usual, that weird vocal overlap at like 1:58 is super unusual though idk how that got through, but other than some more nitpicky stuff that annoyed me, it's a good track.
Struggling to find anything I like honestly. Some parts on the first few songs maybe, and City of Gods is fine. That's it though. This is gonna have to go through extreme changes to click for me.
EDIT 7.3.22
Few changes, Eazy is now added to the album, which is great, I like the track a lot. Not noticing much else, I guess just the mixes got updated on a few tracks, but did they just make the mix on Louie Bags even worse?
Security, Pablo and We Did It Kid grew on me a bit.
Over the last 3-4 months, Beach House has consistently been in my most listened artists. This new album rollout was obviously unique in its method, but it was no less unique in its material either. This album presents Beach House at their most varied and experimental, and is packed to the absolute max with atmospheric, dreamy, huge, expansive, encompassing dream pop.
Teen Dream and Bloom have been consistently in my rotation since I discovered them, and this feels like its going to be a very ... read more
This is my most anticipated album of the year. I have cherished every single that was released, and all the expectations I had built up have been met and exceeded by a mile.
Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You is a gorgeous mammoth of a folk rock album. Through 20 songs over 80 minutes, there is not a second on this thing where I didn't feel like I was being taken on a journey. Adrianne Lenker's vocals have always felt very touching to me, and here they pull off a performance and create ... read more
This album is Mitski's most mainstream sounding, the sound palettes here are, to put it bluntly, pretty generic.
But the one thing that Mitski can't do wrong is her songwriting. It is very solid here, and except for maybe a few exceptions (Everyone, Should've Been Me), I enjoyed this album.
The issues I have are little things, like with the metallophone/xylophone (idk) that sounds super obnoxious in the mix, especially on Valentine, Texas, and of course, the standout here is Everyone, which is ... read more
Black Country New Road has pretty much perfected the buildup of tension in their music.
This album is packed to the brim with very intense emotions. The buildup and release formula is easy to tire out, but here I feel the songs are so unique, and the writing is so delicate, that there is no room to be bored.
Songs like Concorde, Bread Song, Haldern, The Place Where He Inserted the Blade, Snow Globes and Basketball Shoes are so huge and crushing. They deliver punches packed with tension and ... read more
Best one so far. So far everything is just the stellar, glossy, sparkling perfection that I wished this was going to be. This is amazing.
A beautiful crossover between 2 incredible artists, covering a brilliantly written song.
I am definitely biased for anything David Byrne does, but holy fuck this is pristine.
