i've never been this addicted to an album/mixtape ever. boggles my mind just trying to dissect this project with every listen

83 -> 86
being tapped in to san's evolution throughout the years, this project is essentially a culmination of all aspects of his pushing sound, enhancing elements of hyperbounce with the high demand of rage and heavy bass from this new wave. he has ultimately mastered controlled noise.
the only gripe i have is that the vocals mixing-wise doesn't sit on the production very well. otherwise the production and lyricism are both solid
Either their style is growing on me or the production quality on the albums are improving. A better tracklist compared to their previous album (i honestly dont believe that this album and their prior one were released within two days)
Favorite track: Grapmos
Least favorite: La Original del Norte
75->95
One of the most inexplicable vibes emitting from this album. It literally feels like I'm trapped inside of a large record store, almost giving the same feeling of being in a sort of liminal space. just mindlessly flipping through the records, wanting to leave, but for some reason I can't. And when I do, the only thing i can think of is the record store...
I knew I should've gave this a second listen
there's just too many songs here. would've been a better listen if it was reduced to about half the tracks and kept the hardest hitters
Sweet Thing...............9.8/10
Sick Dog.....................8.5/10
Impulse, Routine.......8.0/10
Totally In Love............10/10
Listened to this EP after stumbling across one of their songs on Youtube. 'Totally in Love' is one of only two songs that have genuinely made me cry.
AUTUMN ---- 8.3/10
COPYCAT ---- 8.8/10
JD207 --------- 9.3/10
NO SMOKE - 7.8/10
SO NICE ------ 9.0/10
SHAME ------- 8.8/10
great stuff. unique & influential style that no one can match. i hope to see another album come up like this, whether or not it's from phlame.
I've never been more mixed on an album than Trout Mask Replica. It's unabidingly terrible but good. Its intelligence is interesting but makes you feel otherwise.
I love this album but i hate it so much.
The unintentional eerieness from the very low quality recording could easily fit in some sort of analog horror project.
