This album was made to be performed live, that’s my immediate impression of this album. Every performance on this album feels so alive, from Vince or not. The live instrumentation is so punk-y and energetic, fitting perfectly with the political subject matter. And above all else, the drums on this album, holy shit the drums. Unbelievable album.
For an artist who has proven he’s capable of so much, this album is a big step back in quality. This feels like every song aside from the singles was made in 10 minutes and Mac just thought ‘yeah that’ll do’. With that being said, Malcolm Todd at his least inventive is still more inventive than most, so there is quality here, it’s just a far-cry from his borderline incredible self-titled album.
loses 10 points because the composer shot his bandmate
i dont understand how anybody could listen to brick by boring brick and not shed a tear while aggressively punching your fist in the air
real question: how do I get the sign on the cover tatted on my body without looking like a nazi sympathiser?
fuck doing it right stops this album from being generational. it’s literally perfect except for that one song.
this feels so over the top in places that even the positive tracks don't always make up for it
