I was captivated from beginning to end by The Killers' colorful and self-assured comeback, which seems like their long-overdue redemption. This album delivers exactly what I was needing after Wonderful Wonderful's blunders and uneven moments. It not only expands on what worked there, but it also lets go of the baggage. It's a very strong pop-rock effort, full of conviction and intensity, and for the first time in years, they seem to have really regained their footing. Not only is this an excellent album, but it also demonstrates that The Killers still have the ability to enthrall and surprise me.
