What a sonic experience.

Stretch 2 is the 2nd in a stretch of 2 EPs by Venezuelan producer, singer, sound designer, and performance artist Alejandra Ghersi, better known as Arca. Generally, I haven't been all that impressed with her work in the past that I've heard as of writing this review. Her self-titled effort in 2017 had a lot of emotional potency but outside the track "Whip" did not have much going for it in terms of structure and punch and greater memorability and ... read more

Starz is an OK cloud rap album.

I will say I like the shoegazey twist the production takes for most of this album, some tracks slightly stand out in the blur of merely good tracks such as "Yayo" and "Violence," and Lean and Ariel work together perfectly on the amazing title track!

But generally not many tracks here stand out, no awful ones, but they generally range from kinda boring to good. So...yeah. I like this, I thought that this album was good. Sorry I don't have ... read more

A 16 year old made this?! Damn!

This is at its core just a nice collection of poppy abstract hip hop cuts with very colorful instrumentals (I'll say the penimulate track has messy mixing, everything else is bliss though), a lot of energy, and writing that's not the most hard-hitting in the world (which I wish it did, because lyrics about self-sufficiency and pride and not giving a fuck about what anyone thinks of you is right up my alley), but passionate vocal performances to make up for it ... read more

The second (and what inferrably looks to be the final) volume in the Meet the Woo series from (now late, RIP Woo) Brooklyn-based upstart Pop Smoke basically plays the role of a character portrait of Pop Smoke and his trademark sound: an American take on UK Drill. Which definitely has appeal, and has shown to have mass appeal as Pop Smoke did kind of blow up in 2019 and 2020, now definitely being a well-celebrated and respected name in modern mainstream hip-hop. Now how this appeal translates to ... read more

Set My Heart on Fire Immediately is an artpop album with its' passion and intimacy on high, but its over frequently weak approach to song structuring hinders it and ultimately bars it off from greatness.

Let me start with the compliments I have with this thing: for one, this at its core is a good album in concept and in execution. It's a fusion of art pop and chamber pop and ambient pop and neo-psychedelia with really colorful production and lyrics that are generally very rooted in queer ... read more

In November of last year you checked out my single Crushed and gave it a 0, which honestly I agree with now haha. I personally think my latest EP Analog Autopsy Is my best work to date, and I'm curious about what you think about it.

What modern band/artist can you confidently say will leave a mark in the landscape of music as we know it? In 10-20 years time, we will reminisce over their addition to music and consider them a "LEGEND", as we do for Bowie, Jimi, Beatles, N.W.A., etc.
