Cities Aviv - BLACK PLEASURE

This is a great album with some incredibly creative production. The mixing sounds weird, but I think that's what makes this album sound good, if that makes sense. The production is what makes this album really good to me, although Cities Aviv is a better rapper than most in the abstract/cloud rap game. I can see this rising a few points in a few weeks.

Great collection of tracks, DOOM has better releases though.

First listen of Plastic Beach, and I must say, this wasn't that good. I wouldn't say this is a straight up bad album, but there were many things I didn't like about this album. I think there were way too many features that diddyn't contribute anything to the song. I didn't like either of Mos Def's features for example. The production is decent, but it was repetitive and it's not my thing. I liked a few songs like Rhinestone Eyes, On Melancholy Hill, and To ... read more

This is simply amazing, one of the best albums of the year. Genesis Owusu isn't someone I was familiar with, but I know his game now. This album is insanely creative with its production, and Genesis Owusu is a very capable rapper as well. There are some amazing introspective songs like THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE and ONE4ALL and bangers like MOST NORMAL AMERICAN VOTER: and PIRATE RADIO. It's really like this album, it's super versatile and I think is going to have good replay value as ... read more

Danny Brown - Quaranta

Wow, this is great stuff from Danny Brown. This is the most lyrical I've seen him be, and he reflects on a lot of his past throughout this album. I love that we still get pretty experimental production throughout the album even though this album was kind of a step in another direction for Danny. Also I loved the MIKE feature. Overall, pretty amazing stuff here.
