really really really good. UG rap for kpop fans.

Quando Rondo - Until I Return
83

His best album, his voice sounds really good at times in the layers especially in All My Love and All Gone is just a BANGER.
He has the lyricism, the fast flows, and the effort, AND this album is only 11 tracks but no skips.
Proof that these short albums with extremely good songs are what melodic trap needs.
Way to go!

so good...

MIKE - longest day, shortest night
65

Ok, this one kinda sounded like a Winter New York B side to me. W child soldiers though.

MIKE - Sherm
75

Since this is a super old album of his that is also super hard to find I tried to find it on YouTube and so I listened. A lot of the songs are pretty great honestly, but they're too short. Also some of the tracks are WAY louder than others which didnt personally bother me but if youre in for a relaxing experience youll have to reach fo your phone 2 crank it uppp, but ALAS take the RISK of being JUMPSCARED later ON. Also, why tf is bro only rapping in my right ear in "gritz"? ... read more

MIKE - WINTER NEW YORK

So this was my first ful-length project from MIKE... and the BEST SO FAAAAAAAAR (imitating mike's intonation at times bro sounds like a lion lol)
No, seriously, this is good shit. REALLY nice beats even though I'm not a fan of the first one which is a mf calamity BUTBUTBUT the rest is JAZZY, SIDECHAINED to PERFECTION with that nice 90s rap sound, SOFT yet GRITTY, this perfectly encapsulates the atmosphere of the Bronx! It's really well done and I look forward to hearing more of ... read more

GUYS I THINK MIKE CREATED STEPTEAM BEFORE IT EVEN EXISTED!

MIKE - crimson
78

Seeing the score, and the length, I expected it to be some mid, but idk, this one HITS. It's some chill little rap tracks to jam at night. I like it, nothing is overdone.

MIKE - RAFA (running away from ajogun)
70

So this was my FIRST listen to this guy, and it's nice! 6press does well, and the lyricism has some superb moments, as in the activating mines line.

MIKE - Belgium Butter
65

ALRIGHT FOLKS so I'm back, I have been doing a MIKE deep dive, so right after RAFA which I found on his soundcloud I decided to check this one out. It flows pretty well overall, the beats are nice and especially on the last track (or is it?), the one where he was talkin about his daily routine in any case, which shows that bro can also flow outside stream-of-consciousness. There is also a cool instrumental around the middle of the EP, and a few half-assed moments where it's clear ... read more

Earl Sweatshirt - Grief

Just like "chum", it's disturbing, but it also makes me cry.

Earl Sweatshirt - Some Rap Songs

Okay, also taking a dive into MIKE and Earl's albums while we're at it.
Really great album. Overall really abstract lyricism which could be interpreted in various ways. The songs are really short but super trippy and mesmerizing, with for example the hypnotic beat on "Shattered Dreams". "Red Water" also has an incantatory and haunting pacing, and this album is just proof of how much an album cover is important while one listens to the album. Because while ... read more

Oghu - Tales 3

Okay okay! Looks like we finally got something decent! Really like the EDM focus on some of the tracks like Scared which I HEAVILY DIG. Also sitting on a rock has a cool storytelling concept. Seems well developed and decent.
Saveables: sitting on a rock, scared
Might relisten

Shed Theory - B4TheLurch
60

Oh yeah, and this one. Pretty okay, Last Resort is really good and clutch until Dugan practically ruins the song imo but that isn't saying much. It kinda sounds like a nightmare, I might be getting it but I still need to listen to way more Shed music to fully get it.

Shed Theory - Cave
34

Okay, so we're officially doing some kind of Shed Theory deep dive. I find this project to be really underwhelming cuz some of the beats rock and are really dark and nice like the iokera one for instance, but the vocals are really underbaked and sound super bland, or just even bad sometimes.
No specific highlight for this project.

Shed Theory - Nod Theory
38

I really like the guys in this collective, seem really nice, warm and positive. I like some their individual shit so I wanted to check out The group's music... This honestly just left me confused. Like the production is nice and all but it kind of does sound like a mess instead of your ideal ambient trap album. Or maybe i just dont get it yet...

Corey Lingo - Good Ones Go
80

Woo! Once again a great project from the versatile genius. Better than the last EP, really smooth and soothing overall, with an incredible displayed range. Keep it up bro.

Fave: See You Later On

Danny Brown - Grown Up
84

great song, has an insane bounce to it

Nettspend - early life crisis
63

not bad overall but lyrics are repetitive as shit and sometimes nett really seems to struggle to keep a flow going which doesnt really wanna make me revisit many of these songs except for the osamason one, that song is fire
