An absolutely astounding album that reaches out and grabs you by the heart. Fiona the most esoteric and dissonant point in her career so far, she sprints headstrong into this sound and it works wonders. Lyrics not another soul living could write set to music only someone with this level of passion could pull off.
About as perfect as an album can be. Awe inspiring. Truly, a masterpiece. I never tire of any song, each has individually become a favorite. Absolutely incredible guitar work, woefully underrecognized analog production, all fostered with the most magical lyrics from a voice as wide as wine. As an unreleased work, I think this really shines in Alex's discography. For an artist who so often illustrates such incredibly dark scenes, the median tone on this LP is quasi jovial. Great guitar work, great vocals, great lyrics. Some songs, particularly shorter tracks, are a little grating (I inferred intentionally) but frankly, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this record.
