Laura Marling - Patterns in Repeat
90

I'm on the floor, I'm crying, I'm choking, I'm rolling, someone hold me

Nothing and I mean NOTHING can beat the heartwarming relationship between a mom and her child. If you have a mom go appreciate her RIGHT NOW! This album is a lullaby that speaks to me, comforts me in a time of need. Laura communicates her emotions clearly through soft guitar ballads and a fragile voice that whispers lovely messages.

Each song is a quaint piece of raw talent with no need for grand production. Her fragility speaks volumes, as she treats not only the album but the listener with care. Giving us warmth and a break from all the anxiety we may feel in life. Laura is a protector, she is a mother, she is a great singer, she is an instrumentalist, she embodies what it means to be an artist.

Her simplistic style makes her words all the more powerful. As similar her and Sufjan Stevens are in sound, I think they have attributes that set them apart. I will say her influences have been nothing but positive on her musical style.
