The hits on this project are truly the worst songs on the record. I fucking despise Thunder and Believer, hearing them fucking everywhere still to this day, especially Thunder, which has become probably a bottom 10 song of all time for me. But I don't feel like the rest of the songs are quite as bad as those ones—just a bunch of redneck, truck-driving, sports-going, explosive pop rock anthems, with the exception of whatever the fuck Yesterday is.

The reason why I still don't like it is because it's a bunch of redneck, truck-driving, sports-going, explosive pop rock anthems, but you also have genuinely pretty emotionally vulnerable and bearable songs like Next To Me, which are pretty great. So yeah, definitely overhated—the people who rate this below a 40 probably just have some sort of bias against Imagine Dragons, which is fair because, god, Thunder is so fucking annoying & overplayed and it kind of taints your view of the rest of the project. Production isn't bad as well. Once again not underrated but definitely overhated.
