this felt simple and easy on my first listen. i liked it, but never thought of it as anything more.
but the album cover always stuck with me. tim brawner has been my favourite painter since, it carries such a profound sadness along with it, and i think that's what this album is. flynn has put every single last bit of dread he's felt with his own music career into his debut, as he calls it.

"contrast" is the best word to describe wetdream, even down to the art, and it constantly revels in these 2 distinct tones of darkness and light.

for every "play 8 ball with me", there's a Playing Dead
