Neck Deep - The Peace and the Panic

This may be the least pleasant album I've heard in the past few years. It is, without a doubt, my least favorite of 2017 so far. There are a handful of acceptable tracks here - the first 3 tracks really wouldn't feel out of place on a playlist alongside Knuckle Puck or Story of the Year. By "Parachute", it's starting to feel a little strange - the accents are becoming weirder amalgams of British and faux-American than I've heard on past Neck Deep tunes and the tambourine is just flat ... read more

Oh boy I'm missing something here. This was a forgettable experience that wasn't nearly as unique or interesting and Pure Heroine. Maybe it'll click later, but this was honestly a boring listen for me :/

Really From - Verse

Having had the chance to see People Like You live twice, I must admit that my opinions on this album are colored by getting to hear their musical talent live. This isn't just a group of good musicians, this is absolutely a special conglomeration of talented artists, most of whom could easily succeed as solo musicians (and a few of whom have tried so). Tassey's vocals are the standout here for me, though the instrumentation is also a highlight and the overall jazz/emo blend works a whole lot ... read more
